Hotel Sunny Shiga, Yamanouchi (Nagano)

I absolutely loved the pre-booked dinner at Hotel Sunny Shiga! Each night featured a fabulous hotpot and DIY BBQ style meat that was accompanied by various soups and veggies. It was different every night, keeping the culinary experience exciting. Truly, pre-booking your meals is a must because there aren't many places nearby to eat. The food was delicious, healthy, and varied. I couldn't recommend this enough! It made our evenings after skiing perfect.

After long days of skiing, the onsen at Hotel Sunny Shiga was an absolute dream! It provided a refreshing and calming experience with beautiful shampoo and conditioner offered. They also had robes available for guests, making the transition from the room to the onsen hassle-free. The soothing ambiance was perfect for unwinding, and I felt completely recharged after each visit. It truly was one of the highlights of my stay.

We booked a Japanese-style standard family room with a private bathroom, and it was incredibly spacious! There was plenty of room and storage for all four of us, which made our stay very comfortable. Despite some areas feeling a bit dated, the value for the space we received was really good. I would definitely choose this room type again for our next visit to the area.

One of the conveniences I appreciated the most was the in-house ski rental service. It made gearing up for our ski days so much easier! For just $50, we were able to rent jackets, pants, helmets, and gloves. The ski drying room was also beneficial, as it ensured our gear was ready for us each morning. It truly enhanced our skiing experience, allowing us to focus on enjoying the slopes.
